Trekking in

LIGURIA

From Levanto to Monterosso

This 3-hour journey does not have any particular difficulty, but requires trekking shoes and a bit of workout to overcome some of the steepest trails. You can leave from Levanto station or the beach and follow the signposts. The trail in some places offers a unique view over the coast of the Cinque Terre villages and is a good alternative to the well-known “Blue Trail” (which runs between Monterosso and Riomaggiore) very busy in high season. Once in Monterosso, it’s nice to have a break in the beautiful beach, a dive in the crystal clear waters and, why not, a moment of lounge in one of the many lovely beachfront venues.

From Zoagli to Rapallo, passing through the hamlets of San Pantaleo and Sant’Ambrogio

This brief and panoramic walk starts from the railway station of Zoagli, reveals us the small village with the trail perched on the cliff, the beach, the square, the Saracen Tower, the Canevaro Castle. Crossed Via Aurelia, you climb through an easy path that winds through the gardens to the ancient church of San Pantaleo. Here the look embraces the Gulf of Tigullio from Sestri Levante to Rapallo. A few minutes walk down to Sant’Ambrogio, where it is worth stopping to admire the churchyard, realized with the typical “risseu”, the cobblestone generally in white, black and red colors. The downhill trail down to Rapallo follows ancient “creuze” and arrives near Villa Tigullio, where you can visit the Lace Museum. By train or bus back to Zoagli.
